Ride Rating - 14(A), 13(B), 12(C), 10(D)

To help you make the “good choice” when selecting a Shawnee Trail Cycling Club ride, we have made an attempt to rate each ride based on a combination of factors.  We have selected what we consider the most important criteria, including pace, distance and terrain.

Please take into account that these ratings are based on someone of average fitness.  If your fitness is above or below the average participant, you may find these rides much easier or far more difficult to complete.

For example when looking at the Saturday CPS C pace group, it has a pace of C (3) + a distance of 45mi (4) + rolling hills throughout the ride (5) for a total overall rating of 12

Here comes edition number FIVE of the STCC Super Bowl Spin.  It’s an expanded version of our Sunday morning rides, letting you get out and “spin” those legs on routes we don’t normally take – getting you back home in time to refresh before the party and root for your favorite team.

We’ll be leaving from Market Street – that means you’ll have restrooms, coffee and breakfast at their deli if you want.

There will be five(5) groups on Sunday, maintaining the same Sun morning ride names you’re used to.

Blitz (A pace, 55 miles) [route]

Recovery (B pace, 47 miles) [route]

Hangover (C pace, 47 miles) [route]

TRec (D pace, 36 miles) [route]

Please take a moment to let us know you're coming!   It's free and fun!

Something New!

gravel ride exampleThat's four groups - what? you say?  I told you there were five?  Well, so I did!  For this event, we are offering a gravel group for the first time.  This group will be STCC led and will be our first foray in a ride with a road surface other than asphalt or concrete.  There’s a nice route laid out and a couple of experienced gravel riders leading – come give it a try!  This will be a single paced group, pace of the slowest rider.  You should come, first and foremost, with a bike that can traverse gravel roads (not your regular road bike).  You should also be prepared to self-support.  Bring eats and drinks enough for the entire route.  Feel free to post questions about gravel rides on our Facebook page.  We think you are definitely going to enjoy this one.

Gravel (38 miles) [route]

Start Location

Start Location: Starts from the Market Street parking lot at Eldorado and the Dallas North Tollway.  Restrooms available inside the NE corner of the store and their coffee shop and deli will be open for breakfast.   And, for purchase, they tell us they will have blackeyed peas and ham available after the ride.

Parking: Please park in the open area away from both Market Street and Gander Mountain - save room for their customers.

From DNT Northbound: exit at Eldorado, turn left and pass under the overpass.  Turn right into Market St.  Click on the picture above for google maps.
From DNT Southbound: exit at Eldorado, turn right into Market St. Click on the picture above for google maps.
