We hope you're one of the lucky ones to have received the Covid-19 vaccine. We're finally stepping into a part of the Covid-19 world for which we've all been hoping. We're getting a taste of what the world will look like when the Covid-19 vaccine is widely distributed and we can safely get back to normal. As the Covid-19 vaccines have been distributed to more people, the CDC has issued relaxed guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals.
CDC Recommendations
From the CDC website, these relaxed guidelines for fully vaccinated people that have been exposed to Covid-19, state
..vaccinated people with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Are fully vaccinated (i.e., ≥2 weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or ≥2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine)
- Are within 3 months following receipt of the last dose in the series
- Have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure
What's new with STCC rides?
STCC has decided to take advantage of these relaxed guidelines and will offer our Managed AdHoc Ride Leaders the option to designate a ride as one that is "Vaccination Confirmed". If you, as a potential participant and member of STCC, have voluntarily submitted a copy of your vaccination card and you are fully vaccinated, you will be able to register for that ride. Most importantly, if there is a possible exposure on that ride to someone that has tested positive for Covid-19, you will still be notified by the club so you can monitor for symptoms for 14 days, but you are no longer required to quarantine.
Individuals are fully vaccinated per the rules listed above. As an example from the sample card picture, this individual would be considered full vaccinated on March 12, 2021 and would then be eligible to register for a Vaccination Confirmed ride.
Effect on Existing Rides
Our established Managed AdHoc groups will continue to roll.
Vaccine Unconfirmed Participants
Those that have not been fully vaccinated or have not provided proof of vaccination will continue to register and be bound by the quarantine rules and processes we have had in place for sometime. No change.
Vaccine Confirmed Participants
Club members that have provided confirmation of being fully vaccinated can register and join any ride, including these. Vaccine Confirmed participants will not be required to quarantine but should confine themselves to Vaccine Confirmed rides for 14 days after any exposure and monitor for Covid-19 symptoms.
Going Forward
Submission of your proof of vaccine and participation in our Vaccination Confirmed rides is purely voluntary. If you would like to get on the list for any of these rides that might be submitted, start here
