Pink Out! 2021

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are fortunate to have the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) based in North Texas, right here in Frisco.  NBCF is one of the most recognized and respected breast cancer charities in the world with one of the highest ratings for charities available.  NBCF focuses on early detection and diagnosis, support during and after treatment, and education and research.  A few bits of information about breast cancer from the NBCF website

As promised, we have an exciting day planned for our STCC Pink Out! event for 2021.   This is our fourth year to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month and each year it gets a little bigger and a little better.  2021 is no different and we have a crew of members to ensure success!  We want to welcome our coordinators driving the event this year, Angela Bautista, Saylee Sakalikar, Michelle Zada and Mänoj Turläpäti.  Their exuberance shows in everything they do and this event is no different.  They have some great things planned for you this year to make this the BEST one yet!

The event will be Saturday, October 9 and will come to you in two parts.

Part One

First, we will be asking everyone to wear pink on their rides that morning.  That sharp looking new special edition STCC pink kit fits the bill, but anything pink will do!  Our Ride Leaders will have special rides and we may have some boasting contests for Ride Leaders and participants alike.  There will be activities tied to fundraising, to be announced by our event coordinators.  Regardless, there will be photos, and a lot of boasting rights claimed.  As one aspect of our fundraising, we will give you the opportunity to donate as part of your ride registration, completely optional and anonymous, but very rewarding.

UPDATE 10/6: All Saturday rides will stop by the event at Bike Mart Frisco towards the end.    We'll be providing all members with a list of items on the silent auction so each of you can prepare your bids.  We have some very nice items and all bid amounts will go to NBCF.

Part Two

Then we move to our setup at Bike Mart Frisco, where we'll have a 10k bike ride for the kiddos (old and young), bounce castle, and activity tents for kids young and old.  All the while, we'll be holding a silent raffle to raise money for NBCF.  There will be some nice goodies for you to bid on.   We'll have representatives from NBCF present to share info on their cause and what you can do to help.  You're likely to see our club sponsors there as well, so please stop by and say hi! and Thank you for their support.
