      I looked at the other clubs in the area. Most don’t seem to have (or at least don’t advertise) a novice-like ride. Of those I found:
      PBA calls it novice
      RBM calls it beginner

      I’ve never liked the ‘novice’ title. Seems demeaning to me. Easy Rider is cool if you think about the movie as your reaction (as I do). I’m just afraid most people below the age of 50 will focus on the word ‘easy’ which makes it a bit like novice. I don’t like calling it CPS because all the CPS routs take the same route that novice won’t be taking.

      Beginner or Beginner E (E for a pace below D) does imply some later movement that Todd suggested.

      All that being said, I don’t have a strong opinion of any of these. If you wanted to have some fun with it (and maybe confuse everyone 🙂 ), you could call it Launch Pad; Starting Line; On Your Mark; Genesis; Calm down, none of those are serious.

      From Webster, Novice means beginner or apprentice. We may be splitting hairs.
