Name suggestions (all synonyms for “beginner”):
Greenhorn (I really like this one, has a nice Texas ring to it)
Tenderfoot (same as above, plus has a little cycling connection)
Rookie Ride (connotes that person knows how to ride a bike but not necessarily in a group and is there to learn)
Newcomer (ok, but could suggest they’re new to each ride)
