Are you a Broncos fan? Panthers? Or, just wanting to watch the 50th Super Bowl? Oh yeah, don't want to miss your Sunday ride! What better way to start out Super Bowl Sunday than to get on your bike, join your friends - and go for a nice ride! For our 4th installment, we're going to be doing some fresh routes that we know you're going to love. We are rolling our first group at 8:30am. We're planning multiple pace groups and distances (all dependent on Ride Leaders, of course).
Start Time: 08:30am
All regular Sunday rides are cancelled so you can have an opportunity to ride that bike - AND - see the Super Bowl!
Want to join the ride "en route"? You are welcome to do that - IF you are a current Shawnee Trail Cycling Club member. If you are not a member, you will need to come to the start and sign the ride waiver. Remember, the waiver protects the non-member in the same way it does a member - its important for everyone. Not a member, we have an easy fix for that - become a member of the best cycling club around - Become a Member!
To help you make the “good choice” when selecting a Shawnee Trail Cycling Club ride, we have made an attempt to rate each ride based on a combination of factors. We have selected what we consider the most important criteria, including pace, distance and terrain.
Please take into account that these ratings are based on someone of average fitness. If your fitness is above or below the average participant, you may find these rides much easier or far more difficult to complete.
For example when looking at the Saturday CPS C pace group, it has a pace of C (3) + a distance of 45mi (4) + rolling hills throughout the ride (5) for a total overall rating of 12
Planned groups are:
A, B & C pace groups
C & D pace groups
30 mile Novice
Be sure to bring water bottles and some nutrition. We're headed north and it will be awhile between breakpoints - the price you pay for riding through such beautiful scenery.
In anticipation of larger groups, this event will start at the familiar location of our Saturday morning, Sun/Mon/Wed night rides. The rides all start from the parking lot of the Frisco ISD Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC), 9889 Wade Blvd, Frisco, Texas. See the map below for an overview of our assigned area.
Be respectful, no trash and park to the far north side so as not to interfere with anything going on at the center. Remember, we are guests here. Only park in the designated areas.
