In August, it was proposed to your Board of Directors that Shawnee Trail Cycling Club expand our investment in the surrounding communities where membership is growing and we frequent our rides. Given the wonderful relationship between our club and both the City of The Colony and the great people at Matthews Southwest, owners of The Tribute Lakeside Golf and Resort Community, it only made sense for Shawnee Trail CC to give back and show our appreciation for their support.
In that light, the Board approved the adoption of a stretch of Lebanon Rd that we are all too familiar with, the go zone to The Tribute for our Tuesday and Thursday rides. We are so pleased that Matthews Southwest and The Colony have embraced our efforts and we will not let them down. Signs have been placed at both the North and Southbound limits of our adopted section of Lebanon.
Once per quarter, we will be having a cleaning and will depend on you, our members to turn out and show we care.
This is our second street adoption, along with Main St in Frisco. I hope you agree that community involvement, coupled with you constantly on your bike, is the best way to achieve your clubs mission – education and promotion of cycling in all forms.
