Ride Rating 13 (A), 12 (B), 11 (C), 10 (D)

To help you make the “good choice” when selecting a Shawnee Trail Cycling Club ride, we have made an attempt to rate each ride based on a combination of factors.  We have selected what we consider the most important criteria, including pace, distance and terrain.

Please take into account that these ratings are based on someone of average fitness.  If your fitness is above or below the average participant, you may find these rides much easier or far more difficult to complete.

For example when looking at the Saturday CPS C pace group, it has a pace of C (3) + a distance of 45mi (4) + rolling hills throughout the ride (5) for a total overall rating of 12

Description

The CPS Ride was Shawnee Trail's first Saturday morning ride and has evolved over the years as the club has grown.  The name CPS was derived by our Ride Leaders at the time as it started from Central Park in Frisco - get it?  Central Park Saturday?

This ride now offers four pace groups and 3 rotating routes.  A, B, C & D groups depart from the same location at roughly the same time.  CPS is our first Saturday ride with the "fall back" concept, similar to our weekday night rides.  If you are in a pace group and find its a little too much, stop and wait and the next level group will be along shortly.  This is also an ideal ride to learn and practice group riding skills.  Our ride leaders, with a smile on their face, will gladly work with you on the nuances and fun of safe group riding.

The routes vary from 42-45 miles with some of moderate hills, making the ride a challenge, but not overwhelming.  I think you’ll enjoy the mostly smooth and very safe routes.  Come work on your fitness, group riding skills and meet some wonderful people that love to just ride their bikes.
